ANCON needs your precious help in order to protect and preserve Panama’s rich nature and biodiversity, particularly in areas under continuous unsustainable threats of deforestation, fires and illegal hunting.

Your contribution will help safeguard the Punta Patiño Natural Reserve in the eco-region of the Darien Chocó, an area rich in biodiversity and unique species.
Punta Patiño en Darién es la primera y mayor reserva natural privada de Panamá con una extensión de más de 30,000 hectáreas y con una variedad de ecosistemas tales como manglares, playas, bosques secos (escasos en Panamá) y bosques húmedos. Punta Patiño in Darién is the first and largest private natural reserve in Panamá with an extension of over 30,000 hectares (86,000 acres) and a range of ecosystems such as mangroves, beaches, dry forests (scarce in Panama) and humid forests. The reserve is home to a variety of endangered species like the jaguar, puma, harpy eagle, carey turtles among others. Click HERE for a complete list of endangered species.

Monitoreo / Monitoring
Utilizando la herramienta de monitoreo TROPICARMS 2.0, podrá vigilar el estado de la vegetación de la Reserva Punta Patiño. Cada año ANCON publicará un reporte de monitoreo realizado por el Centro del Agua del Trópico Húmedo para América Latina y el Caribe (CATHALAC).
Thanks to TROPICARMS 2.0, a monitoring tool, you will be able to watch in real time, Punta Patiño Reserve’s vegetation status. Every year ANCON will publish and annual monitoring report, carried out by the Water Center for the Humid Tropics of Latin America and the Caribbean (CATHALAC).

Gracias a su donación, es posible la contratación de guardabosques adicionales, la realización de patrullajes tanto terrestres como marinos, la creación de talleres de educación ambiental para comunidades aledañas a la Reserva, la realización de rondas cortafuegos, la restauración de instalaciones, señalizaciones, entre otros.
Thanks to your donation, we are able to hire additional park rangers, to patrol land and water areas, to create environmental education workshops for communities near the Reserve, to prevent fires through constant patrolling, facilities restoration, signalization of the areas, among others.
